About the Thunderchild Crabapple
The Thunderchild Crabapple is a prairie-bred flowering crab developed by Percy Wright of Saskatoon. Its leaves emerge green and deepen to rich purple through the summer, giving colour all season long.
In spring it is covered in deep pink blossoms that attract pollinators, followed by small dark red crabapples that birds enjoy. It is resistant to fireblight and makes an excellent feature tree and a good pollinator for apples.
