About the American Elm
The American Elm is the classic prairie shade tree, with a graceful vase-shaped crown and dark green leaves that turn golden in fall. Our stock is the 'Brandon' selection, chosen for its dependable form and tolerance of tough urban and rural conditions.
American Elm grows quickly into a large, long-lived shade tree for yards, farmyards and boulevards. Dutch elm disease is managed in Saskatchewan, so keep trees healthy and follow provincial rules: do not prune elms from April 1 to August 31 and never store or move elm firewood.
