About the Hot Wings Tatarian Maple
The Hot Wings Tatarian Maple is an excellent small tree for prairie yards. Its dark green leaves are set off in mid-summer by brilliant red winged seeds (samaras) that make the tree look like it is in bloom.
Hot Wings tolerates drought and alkaline soils, stays a manageable size and has a neat, upright-spreading form. Use it as a small shade tree, a feature tree in the front yard or a colourful accent in a mixed shelterbelt.
