About the Green Wall Spire Crabapple
The Green Wall Spire Crabapple is one of the narrowest columnar crabapples available, introduced by Jeffries Nurseries in Manitoba. It grows tall and tight with glossy dark green leaves, making it a great choice for privacy screens, narrow side yards, driveways and anywhere you want a vertical accent without the spread.
In spring, pink buds open to fragrant white blossoms that attract pollinators, followed by small red crabapples that hang on into winter and feed the birds. Fall colour is yellow to coppery-bronze. Plant about 4 - 5 ft apart for a living green wall. It is also a good pollinator for apples.
