About the Aurora Honeyberry (Haskap)
The Aurora Honeyberry (also known as Haskap) is a hardy, early-bearing fruit shrub prized for its sweet-tart blue berries and excellent cold tolerance. Bred for northern climates, Aurora produces high yields of large, flavorful berries ideal for fresh eating, jams, jellies, and baking. Its compact growth and dependable performance make it a favorite for both home gardeners and commercial fruit growers.
In spring, the Aurora Honeyberry is among the first shrubs to bloom, showcasing delicate yellow-white flowers that attract pollinators even in cool weather. By early summer, the shrub is heavy with elongated blue berries, ripening earlier than most other fruit crops. The leaves remain a rich green through the season, turning soft yellow in fall. When paired with another compatible variety such as Boreal Beast for cross-pollination, yields are abundant and consistent.
